Paleo Weight Loss Mistake

A few months ago, I was having a hard time. I was eating too much and sometimes I was eating the wrong things. I was in a self-destructive rut. One morning, I awoke to find my self 20 pounds heavier. Time to regroup and get myself right.

I did a pantry walk through, got rid of the few things that were in there that were unpaleo. There were very few things in the pantry.I still shopped right even though I wasn't eating right. Lots of trip to fast food. I joined the gym so I would do more movement until mud season is over. Then I went shopping.

So I am going along, eating the "right' foods, just like before. The weight was staying the same. I was getting frustrated. Maybe I was eating too much fruit. So I cut fruit, weight stayed the same. Now i was thinking why bother?

A few weeks ago, I was sitting in the living room with the kids. The kids were watching the stupidest show ever and my mind was wandering. My eyes rested on the book shelf where I spotted an Atkins book. Grabbing the book I got reacquainted with the good doctor.

During induction, Dr Atkins says to avoid nuts during the first two weeks.

What? Nuts? I had been going nuts for nuts. I have been a working mom, starting my own business with one child still being home schooled. I just been grabbing almonds when ever I was hungry. I was eating a lot of them.

So I cut the nuts. Not totally, but maybe having a handful once or twice a week. Been 3 weeks, I have dropped 8 pounds.

Nuts are the food animals eat to store up fat for winter. Wish I had realized that before. I would have been less frustrated. Someone told me that Robb Wolf says to only eat nuts you have to shell yourself.

Lesson learned
